Perfect World Reveals Stake in Browser Game Acquisition

Zhu Qi, president of Perfect World's (Nasdaq: PWRD) online gaming subsidiary Perfect World Interactive Entertainment, has disclosed the company plans to become a global online game operator through future acquisitions.
Zhu said that Perfect World is considering entering the iPhone and iPad gaming market. Perfect World also announced its entrance to the browser game market through acquisition of Chengdu-based Ye Net Science & Technology Development (webgame.com.cn), in which it purchased an 80% stake.
Zhu added that Perfect World also plans to enter the SNS market, and that while Perfect World is keeping an eye on the children's social gaming market, the company is still debating whether to enter the market through acquired or self-developed products.
