Comba Wins China Mobile TD-SCDMA Antenna Bids

Chinese integrated wireless solutions and sub-systems provider Comba Telecom (2342.HK) has announced that it has secured a large order for TD-SCDMA smart antennas from China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) for Phase-4 of its 3G network buildout.

Phase-4 of China Mobile's 3G buildout involves more than 100,000 TD-SCDMA base stations and at least 200,000 sets of TD-SCDMA smart antennas in two categories supporting A-band and F-band: directional smart antennas and integrated antennas for base stations. Comba successfully bid to manufacture 44,000 sets of the two antennas, accounting for 21% and 40% shares of each set of Phase-4 smart antenna orders.
