Shangmail, Vogins Release MTK-Based Push Mail

Chinese push mail provider Shangmail and Chinese handset software platform developer Vogins recently released overseas a push mail middleware application for MediaTek's MTK platform. Shangmail will also cooperate with MTK-based handset designers and brands to pre-install push mail services on their products, providing more feature phone users with push mail services. The service allows the sending and receiving of messages, as well as signatures and new message alerts.

Shipments of MTK chipsets are expected to reach 450 mln units this year, up 29% from 350 mln in 2009. Based on current figures, half of all sales are overseas exports. The overseas release of Shangmail's MTK version will cover Southeast Asia and Europe.
