Rumor: WeChat Service Provider Weimob Lands RMB 150 Mln Series B

DoNews, 4/20/15

Shanghai-based Huishuo Information Technology, operator of Weimob, a third-party service platform for official accounts on Tencent's (0700.HK) WeChat mobile messaging app, has landed RMB 150 mln Series B financing, says an industry source. Weimob announced officially it will soon release detailed information on the investment, but could not comment on the amount as yet.

In March this year Weimob launched free-of-charge individual store builder platform V Dian, marking the company's entry into the WeChat store building sector. The source said the new funds will be used to develop the platform, adding systems for supplier quality controls, credit management for store owners, and customer guarantees.
