Baidu Maps to Integrate Shansong's Delivery Service

Beijing-based Tongcheng Biying Technology, operator of intra-city express delivery service platform Shansong, recently announced a strategic partnership with Chinese internet company Baidu's (Nasdaq: BIDU) mapping service.

Under the partnership, the parties will use the Baidu Maps Open Platform to provide precise location and electric bike navigation services, and Baidu Maps will also add a link to Shansong's delivery platform so that users can place orders through Baidu Maps directly. Baidu Maps will take advantage of the extra traffic generated by Shansong's 270,000 delivery personnel to refresh its location data and optimize its route status information in real time.

In the future, the Baidu Maps client app will feature additional services from Shansong, such as local consumption and purchasing services.
