China Adds 887,000 5G Cellular Base Stations in 2022

China's total number of deployed cellular base stations reached approximately 10.83 mln by the end of December 2022, according to key communications industry infrastructure indicators newly released by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). Of this total, 5G base stations comprised 2.312 mln, representing an increase of approximately 887,000 5G base stations since the end of 2021. Other key communications industry infrastructure stats as of the end of 2022 are as detailed in the table below:
