China Unicom to Stop Selling Local Recharge Cards

China Unicom Press Release, 3/01/09

China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) has announced that as of April 1, 2009, it will stop issuing local prepaid recharge cards, substituting the local service with "one card recharge" prepaid cards, which allow recharging nationwide. Customers with existing local recharge cards can exchange their cards at local China Unicom outlets.
