Update: Unicom iPhone Official Sale Date Delayed

China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) deputy GM Li Gang says the WCDMA operator will begin making the iPhone available for pre-order on its website starting October 1. Li said the handset would go on sale between October 15 and October 30, rather than on October 15 as previously rumored.
Li said that Unicom will contact subscribers who reserve an iPhone the week before the handset goes on sale to tell them how to sign up for Unicom's iPhone plans.
