Rumor: MSN Netease JV to Target Search

An industry source has revealed that the rumored joint venture between Microsoft and Chinese internet company Netease (Nasdaq: NTES) is "basically a done deal," though details such as each company's respective percentage of the JV have yet to be revealed. According to the source, the JV may focus its efforts in the field of online search. The partnership will also cover content; reportedly, all of MSN China's content could come from Netease in the future.
MSN China said it would not comment on industry rumors. Netease also declined to comment on the rumor.
