Netease to Unveil "Game Developer Program"

A spokesperson for Chinese internet portal and online game developer and operator Netease (Nasdaq: NTES) recently revealed that the company is planning to release a game development platform late this year, or early next year.
The platform will provide game enthusiasts with basic support and resources for designing and implementing their own games, and promoting them on the platform. The basic developer's kit, consisting of development tools and peripheral support, is the result of 6 months of R&D by a specialized internal team at Netease, and allows developers to focus on core gameplay development. In addition to profit sharing with developers, Netease is also offering support to developers through an initial upload payment. Any developer whose game is approved for placement on the platform will receive a one-time payment on the order of a few hundred RMB.
Netease will officially launch the developer's program in mid-December.
