On February 23, Chinese Internet firm Sohu (Nasdaq: SOHU) partnered with Hangzhou-based mapping service eDushi.com (operated by Hangzhou-based Aladdin Information & Technology) to launch 3D illustrated map services for users of Sohu's Sogou search engine. Sogou launched the new map service with 3D illustrated map coverage for nearly 100 cities, with features including mouse-over building labels, public transportation route search, driving directions, "nearby" search, address saving, and SMS messaging.
Companies, shops, and hotels in real-life cities are reflected on the service's 3D maps, with company job ads, store sale information, hotel bookings, and other information and services directly accessible from the maps.
