Gehua Launches TV Education Channel

On January 13, Beijing-based cable TV and broadband operator Gehua (600037.SH) launched an educational channel on its interactive HDTV platform. Initial content featured on the channel currently includes full TV courses for math and Chinese and English language instruction at the primary school level. A spokesperson for Gehua said that interactive education services will soon be the main value-added service offered by all major digital TV network operators, as well as the newest market for providers of educational content products.
