Chinese B2C e-commerce site Dangdang (NYSE: DANG) announced today that it is launching a "life services" division that will be tasked with developing services including mobile phone recharging, group buy platforms, and travel offerings, the first two of which have already launched. The new division employs a team of around 100 people at present.
An industry source revealed that the "life services" division will expand at an average rate of one new service per month, with exclusive service offerings to include travel and film tickets. Dangdang says that it will launch another new service during the second half of September.
