Vimicro Wins Shanxi Video-Surveillance Contract

Beijing-based PC-camera processor and IP-based surveillance solution provider Vimicro (Nasdaq: VIMC) today announced that its subsidiary, Vimicro Electronics Corporation, has secured a major government purchase contract from the Jinzhong City Public Security Bureau of Shanxi province to provide Surveillance Video and Audio Coding (SVAC)-based security surveillance products and services.

Vimicro Electronics Corporation will supply key video surveillance-related hardware and software for the project. The company's portion of the contract value will be USD 6.23 mln (RMB 39.49 mln), out of a total contract value of USD 13.1 mln (RMB 82.5 mln). The project expected to be completed by the end of February 2013.
