China's Jan-Oct 2012 Rural Appliance Sales Reach RMB 175 Bln

According to new figures from China's Ministry of Commerce, nationwide sales volume (excepting Shandong, Henan, Sichuan, and Qingdao) under the government-backed rural appliance sales program for the first ten months of 2012 totaled 65.22 mln units, generating sales revenues of RMB 175.24 bln, up 23.5% and 18.8%, respectively, YoY. October sale volume reached 7.91 mln units, generating RMB 21.38 bln in revenue, up 27.5% and 26.0% YoY, respectively.

As of the end of October 2012, cumulative rural appliance sales since the rollout of the program have reached 283 mln units and RMB 681.1 bln in value.
