China Telecom Stocks Up on Nano-SIM Cards for iPhone 5

Sina Tech, 11/15/12

On November 5, a China Telecom (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) vendor revealed that China Telecom branches in Beijing, Shandong, Shanghai, Jiangsu and other cities have recently increased their stock of nano-SIM cards, bringing the total number of nano-SIM cards available nationwide from China Telecom to several million. Following the international release of the iPhone 5 in September, China Telecom began providing nano-SIM cards to China Telecom customers though its local service halls, though the total quantity of cards was small. Many analysts expect that China Telecom is increasing its stock of nano-SIM cards in anticipation of the launch of the iPhone 5 in China.

China Telecom Chairman Wang Xiaochu recently stated that China Telecom plans to launch the iPhone 5 at the end of November or in early December.
