China Telecom Solicits IPTV CDN Bids in Six Provinces

China Telecom (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) recently solicited bids for IPTV platform content delivery network (CDN) equipment in six provinces (Hainan, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Yunnan, Xinjiang, and Jiangxi) to meet demand for IPTV services platform construction or expansion in those provinces.
Participants in the tender include ZTE (0763.HK; 000063.SZ), UTStarcom (Nasdaq: UTSI), Huawei, Fiberhome (600498.SH), Cisco, and Channelsoft. Fiberhome, Cisco, and Channelsoft have submitted the three highest bids.
