TCL November Handset Shipments Up 8% YoY

Chinese handset manufacturer TCL Communication Technology (2618.HK) today announced the unaudited shipment figures for its handsets and other products for November 2012.
The company's total sales volume of handsets and other products reached 5,017,068 units in November, up 8% YoY. Sales of smartphones and other smart devices rose 284% YoY to reach 932,570 units, comprising 19% of the company's total shipments. Sales of handsets and other products totaled 475,285 and 4,541,783 units in the PRC and overseas, respectively.
Sales of handsets and other products reached 38,481,456 units over the first eleven months of 2012, down 2% YoY compared with the same period last year. Of these, 5,225,594 units were sold in the PRC market, a YoY increase of 32%, with 33,255,862 units sold overseas, down 5% compared with last year. Year-to-date sales of smartphone and other smart devices totaled 5,881,042 units, jumped 435% YoY.
The company plans to release the TCL S810 in the PRC market in December.
In November, the company partnered with Russian telecom operator MegaFon to introduce the Alcatel One Touch 922 in the Russian market.
