Rumor: Qihoo 360 Group Buy Directory Plans New Product

An industry source revealed today that Chinese internet company Qihoo 360's (NYSE: QIHU) group-buy directory portal has begun quietly testing a new product aimed at drawing in leading group buy sites and mid- to high-end businesses. The source provided an internal study indicating that 360 Group Buy will join with group buying site Lashou and the high-end restaurant chain South Beauty for its first partnership, to be named "Project Epicure." The plan will begin with themed promotions at flagship stores, and will allow customers to enjoy pre-paid services without needing to make any advance reservations. Qihoo 360's group buy site will continue to roll out new offerings, including partnerships with chain brands, small artisanal businesses, and other lifestyle services.
