Gome.com, Coo8 Begin Sharing Product Data

Early this morning, Chinese home appliance and consumer electronics retailer Gome's (0493.HK) two e-commerce platforms, Gome.com.cn and Coo8, began sharing product data. Under Gome CEO Han Depeng's plans, the two sites had originally been slated to complete their integration in January 2013. Product data-sharing indicates that the websites have connected their back-end platforms ahead of schedule.

Following this first step in the integration of Gome.com.cn and Coo8, customers will be able to search for products on one website via the other website, and will automatically be transferred to the appropriate platform for purchase.

Gome.com.cn spokesperson Peng Liang said that the two sites' rapid implementation of data-sharing signals the completion of a new round of strategic deployments for Gome. The two sites have a combined total of more than 2 mln SKUs.
