Suning to Release Prepaid Gift Cards

Chinese consumer electronics and home appliances retailer Suning (002024.SZ) has announced the release of a prepaid gift card that can be used to purchase items either in Suning stores or on its online e-commerce platform Suning.com. The card can be used to purchase a variety of products including cosmetics, childcare necessities, and apparel. Suning's Beijing stores will begin carrying the gift card on January 1, 2013. Hou Enlong, GM of Beijing Suning, confirmed that the prepaid cards can be used both in physical and virtual stores.
