BOE to Construct 8.5G LCD Facility in Chongqing

Chinese TFT-LCD manufacturer BOE (000725.SZ; 200725.SZ) has announced that it has entered into a framework agreement with the Chongqing municipal government to construct an 8.5G TFT LCD production facility in the city. The project is valued at RMB 32.8 bln and will begin construction no later than September 30, 2013. The facility is estimated to reach full capacity is the second quarter of 2015.

Monthly glass substrate production is estimated to reach 90,000 panels.

The Chongqing municipal government will provide RMB 10.8 bln in funding for the project .
