Tencent Introduces Mobile QQ VIP Membership

Chinese internet and mobile services firm Tencent (0700.HK) has extended VIP membership for the company's QQ messaging platform to users of the mobile QQ client. Mobile QQ VIP users will receive the same privileges as their PC counterparts, such as display names in red font, higher placement on friend lists, members-only icons, and user ranking medals. In addition, Tencent has introduced new VIP membership features such as "colored chat bubbles," an "online via mobile" status, and friend "follow" features for QQ's 30 mln VIP users. QQ VIP memberships are not sold as mobile or PC only services, but rather as comprehensive VIP memberships covering mobile and PC QQ clients.
