51Buy Adds Delivery Tracking Feature to Mobile App

Sina Tech, 8/07/13

Chinese internet and mobile services firm Tencent's (0700.HK) consumer electronics B2C e-commerce site 51Buy has added a package tracking feature to its mobile client, allowing users to retrieve information regarding the exact location of their packages, as well as contact delivery people directly. The new feature also provides a package alert service, notifying customers when their packages are within 1.5 km of delivery locations.

The new package tracking feature is based on GPS tracking of the delivery person's exact location. Based on current operation figures, user success rate in tracking packages has exceeded 98%, while tracking accuracy has surpassed 95%. Currently, the service is available for packages delivered by 51Buy's own delivery team in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen.
