In a joint announcement, the Ministry of Finance (MOF), the Ministry of Public Security (MPS), the Ministry of Civil Affairs (MOCA), the Ministry of Information Industry (MII) and the General Administration of Sport (GAS) have indicated they will crack down on the illegal sale of lottery tickets on the Internet in order to preserve order and stability in the lottery ticket market.
Speaking at the 2007 Cross-Straits Urban Creativity Summit, Deputy Director of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) Tian Jin announced that from January 1 the broadcast, distribution and exhibition of TV shows jointly-produced by Taiwanese and mainland firms and mainland-only productions will be handled identically, subject to approval by mainland authorities.
