Wang Zhicheng, deputy chief of the Department of Copyright Administration of China's General Administration of Press and Publication (GAPP), recently announced that Chinese internet company Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU) has submitted a plan to eliminate copyright infringement on its websites, and will be monitored by the Beijing Municipal Copyright Bureau.
Ge Binbin, founder of Chinese online game developer and operator Goldcool, a subsidiary of Shanda Games (Nasdaq: GAME), has announced that his new e-commerce start-up, Yu Wang Technology, has received RMB 200 mln in first-round funding from Shanda Interactive (Nasdaq: SNDA) and two other companies, with RMB 50 mln already deposited in the company's accounts.
At the China Content Broadcasting Network Exhibition (CCBN 2011) currently underway in Beijing, State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) deputy bureau chief, Tian Jin, said that SARFT had drafted initial plans for building its national-level cable television network company, China Broadcasting Television Network.
