At the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's (MIIT) March 30 deployment meeting for broadband upgrades, MIIT minister Miao Wei said that one of the goals of broadband speed upgrade efforts this year would be to add FTTH coverage for more than 35 mln households, to increase the penetration of 4 Mbps or faster access plans to more than 50% of all access options, to add more than 20 mln new fixed-line broadband subscriber households, to increase public WLAN hotspot coverage, and to further promote and increase broadband adoption and drive a decrease in unit bandwidth prices.   Read More...
