An informed insider has revealed that Chinese internet company Shanda Interactive has reached an agreement with Tencent (0700.HK) under which the new Shanda handset will come pre-loaded with a suite of Tencent applications, including QQ mobile applications, Tencent's mobile messaging app Weixin, its QQ mobile browser, and Tencent security products.
An industry source revealed recently that Chinese internet company Netease (Nasdaq: NTES) intends to follow in the footsteps of internet firm Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU), online media and game operator Shanda Interactive, and online security software developer Qihoo 360 (NYSE: QIHU) by introducing its own smartphone.
