Robin Li, CEO of Chinese internet company Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU) has revealed in an internal company email that the company plans to cut senior staff members in order to improve efficiency.

In the email, Li noted that he would like to remove senior staff members who could not write code, and noted that managers should understand the industry they worked in.

Li added that Baidu would "Encourage cunning, driven employees, and eliminate soft, complacent ones."
