MIIT Releases China's Feb 2024 Wireline Broadband Account Totals by Province

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has released statistics detailing the country's total number of wireline broadband accounts by province as of the end of February 2024. China finished the month with over 643 mln wireline broadband accounts, representing a net decrease of 6.8 mln accounts compared to the end of December 2023.
The five provinces with the highest penetration of Gigabit internet as a percentage of the province's total number of wireline broadband accounts were Guizhou with 36.1%, followed by Jiangsu (32.8%), Hubei (32.6%), Gansu (31.7%), and Henan (30.7%). The five provinces with the lowest penetration of Gigabit internet were Liaoning (15.7%), Shanxi (16.7%), Jilin (18.3%), Chongqing (18.4%), and Heilongjiang (20.9%).
