In a decision that will have an impact for online Chinese media outlets, the Nanshan District People's Court of Shenzhen, Guangdong province, has ruled that the common practice of using digital images from other websites without permission or authorization, constitutes copyright infringement.
It is rumored that an assessment group made up of representatives from the Chinese Standards Administration (SAC), the Ministry of Information Industry (MII), the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the State Administration of Film Radio and Television (SARFT) will conduct tests on the 5 largest mobile TV standards on November 15.
